Vasilios Ioakimidis is Professor and Head of the Department of Social Work at the University of West Attica, Greece. He also serves as Global Education Commissioner of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW). His work is internationally recognised within the field of critical social work, with a particular focus on the histories of complicity and resistance within child protection systems, social justice, and processes of historical recognition and redress. He has authored and edited books and scholarly publications that are widely used in social work education internationally and is actively involved in initiatives promoting social justice and the rights of children and other marginalised populations.
