Dr. Stelios Stylianidis is Emeritus Professor of Social Psychiatry at Panteion University and Founder of EPAPSY (Association for Regional Development and Mental Health), where he served as Scientific Director from 1989 to 2015 and currently holds the position of Honorary President. He completed his specialization in Psychiatry in France (Paris XII) and has worked in the fields of Social Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis in the public sector in Greece, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Canada. Dr. Stylianidis is a psychoanalyst and member of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). He is also a group analyst and former training member of the Société Française de Psychothérapie Psychanalytique de Groupe (SFPPG). He served as National Representative for Mental Health at the World Health Organization (2009–2011) and as Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital of Daou Pentelis (2001–2004). Dr. Stylianidis has played a key role in the Psychiatric Reform and the deinstitutionalization process in Greece, as well as in the development of community mental health services. He has published more than 180 scientific papers, along with numerous articles and public interventions in the media. He has also led research programmes on involuntary hospitalisation and supervised initiatives focusing on the mental health of children, adolescents, and refugees, promoting the Recovery model and the protection of rights in mental health.
