Martin Karlsson, PhD, is a research officer at the Swedish Agency for the Media. He has conducted several studies examining media habits, media attitudes and media literacy among children and the adult population in Sweden and the Nordics. A core focus of his work has been online risks among children and the protection of minors online. As an active member of the Safer Internet Centre in Sweden, where the Swedish Agency for the Media participates in the capacity of an awareness centre with funding from the Digital Europe Programme, he has delivered several reports and presentations addressing urgent concerns in policymaking for children and their online environment.
