Prof. Laura Guercio is Associate Professor of Sociology at Link Campus University and Secretary General of the Universities Network for Children in Armed Conflict. An international lawyer admitted before the International Criminal Court, she has extensive experience in international law, international relations, human rights, international humanitarian law, criminal law, gender studies, and children studies in armed conflict. She previously served as Secretary General of the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; as Italian Agent and Board Member of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights; a Member of the Council of the European Law Institute; an OSCE expert under the Moscow Mechanism, and a Council of Europe expert on children’s rights. Her academic and professional work focuses on the protection of vulnerable populations, post-conflict reintegration, accountability for international crimes, and the impact of conflict and emerging technologies on societies.
