    Programme Officer, Child Online Protection, International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

    Fanny-Carlotta Rotino is Programme Officer for Child Online Protection at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), where she leads global efforts on child online safety and digital policy. She serves as Secretariat of the ITU Council Working Group on Child Online Protection and is Global Programme Manager for ITU’s Child Online Protection programme. She also acts as a subject matter expert on children’s rights in the digital environment. Her work focuses on child online protection policy, national strategies, capacity-building, digital rights, online safety education, industry engagement and international cooperation. She leads global initiatives at the intersection of children’s rights, digital technologies, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, working with governments, regulators, UN partners, civil society, academia and industry to strengthen national systems, promote child participation and advance rights-based approaches to protecting and empowering children online. She has extensive experience in child rights, policy development and multi-stakeholder coordination, including leading the development of the ITU Guidelines on Child Online Protection and the Joint Statement on Artificial Intelligence and the Rights of the Child.
