Emma Momqvist has built her working life around issues related to social change and advocacy. Her background in the Swedish women's and young women's shelter movement began with voluntary engagement in 2018. Today, she is the Executive Director of the Women's and Young Women's Shelter in Borlänge, Sweden, as well as a Board Member of the National Organization for Women’s and Young Women's Shelters in Sweden (Roks). In her work, she meets women, girls and children in highly complex life situations as a result of violence, giving her close insight into the process of breaking free from violence and everything that entails. Alongside this work, she provides training and workshops to managers, social service professionals and healthcare staff on men’s violence against women. Emma has also led a nationally recognized project exploring TikTok as a platform for the romanticization of OnlyFans and sugar dating.
