    Chryssa Grylli works as a paediatric specialist and certified child abuse specialist (Certification for Child Protection Medicine by the German Society for Child Protection in Medicine) at the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Vienna’s General Hospital / Medical University of Vienna. She is the leading Physician of FOKUS (Forensic examination center for children and adolescents), which represents a specialised umbrella service for all regional hospital-based child protection teams in Vienna. Furthermore, she is a member of the research committee of the Austrian Society of Child Protection Medicine. She is active research on violence against children, including a recent publication on the definition, early detection, and case management of fabricated and/or induced illness and medical child abuse (FII; formerly Münchhausen by proxy); and other projects including multinational EU funded projects. In addition to her clinical and research activities, Dr. Grylli is actively involved in professional education and interdisciplinary training in child protection medicine. Her teaching focuses particularly on the recognition and management of child abuse and neglect within healthcare settings. Furthermore she is a guest lecturer at the European University Cyprus Medical School (Frankfurt and Nicosia branches).
