Agapi Kandylaki is currently Professor in Critical Counselling in Social Work and Multiculturalism at the Hellenic Mediterranean University. She worked as a Professor at the Democritus University of Thrace. She was the Head of the Joint Master Course on Counselling ( Univ. of Athens, University of Crete and Democritus University of Thrace) until March 2026. She was also a Member of the National Strategy Committee on Preventing and Dealing with Children's Violence and Juvenile Deliquency ( 2024-2025). She has also been teaching at the Panteion University ( Dept of Social Policy) for the last seven years and has taught as a Lecturer in the UK ( Portsmouth University 1993-1995 and Bradford and Ilkley College 1992-1993). Her PhD thesis (1996, University of Bradford) is on: Male Youth and Sexual Abuse: A Qualitative and Discursive Analysis of Social Work and Related Professional Knowledge of and Practice with Male Youth Survivors and Perpetrators of Sexual Abuse"
